One City Day

Sign-ups for RSF’s One City Day Bioblitz are open, and we would love your participation in documenting plants and wildlife in San Francisco! We welcome your colleagues, friends, family, and neighbors on Saturday, July 11th at Golden Gate Park.

Reimagining San Francisco will be hosting two Bioblitzes at Golden Gate Park. We'll meet at 8th Ave and Fulton St at 8:30 am and break into two groups to document nature using the INaturalist app. One group will head to Blue Heron Lake and the other to Oak Woodlands Area of the park.

iNaturalist App

We recommend familiarizing yourself with iNaturalist before you come. If you haven't used it before, download the free iNaturalist app to your phone and create an account. Make a few observations around your yard or neighborhood to get a feel for the app. Here is a how-to link for iPhone users. Here is a how-to link for Android users.

What to Bring and Wear

At the minimum, you need a smartphone with iNaturalist installed and logged into, or a camera to upload your observations to the iNaturalist website later.

Clothing: Wear comfortable layers! You may also want to have a hat and sunglasses on hand when it is sunny.

Footwear: Wear comfortable, sturdy footwear. Hiking boots, running shoes, or other shoes with tread are recommended.
