Louis is an environmental policy consultant specializing in climate change and forestry in California and nationally. He helps clients design and promote nature-based climate solutions, climate resilience, and heat illness prevention policy, plans and programs. Louis is a member of the Advisory Council to Sutro Stewards working with state, local and community partners to promote ecological health and public access to the Mt. Sutro Open Space Reserve in San Francisco. Louis is also a senior climate policy advisor to Los Angeles-based Climate Resolve and an advisor to the Climate and Health Equity program at the Federation of American Scientists. Previously, Louis served as the Director for Climate Change at the Nature Conservancy’s California chapter, Deputy Director of External Affairs for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection under Governor Gray Davis, and as Assistant Regional Director of The Wilderness Society. He holds an M.A. in urban planning and environmental policy from the University of California–Los Angeles and a B.A. from the University of California–Santa Barbara.
